Golden Line Metro Line 8

The Gold Line Metro, also known as Line 8 of Mumbai Metro, is a major urban transit project connecting Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) in Mumbai to the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA). This strategic metro corridor is designed to enhance airport connectivity, improve regional transport, and drive economic growth across Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. Purpose: To provide fast, reliable airport-to-airport connectivity and reduce travel time in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).

Directly links CSIA and NMIA, facilitating business travel, cargo transport, and tourism. Supports the logistics and aviation sectors by reducing travel time and operational costs. Metro stations near Ulwe, Dronagiri, and Taloja provide easy access to  industrial hubs and SEZs. Enhances freight and cargo operations, improving efficiency for businesses. Metro stations act as catalysts for residential and commercial development. Areas like Ulwe, Dronagiri, and Koproli are emerging as high-value investment zones. Supports transit-oriented development (TOD) with mixed-use townships.

 

Metro Lines

  • Line 1 (Blue Line): Versova – Andheri – Ghatkopar Route: Versova → Andheri → Ghatkopar

    First operational metro in Mumbai, connecting western suburbs to central suburbs. Reduces congestion on Western Express Highway and Mumbai suburban railway. Boosts property value along the corridor; provides seamless commuter access to business districts.

  • Line 2A (Yellow Line): Dahisar (East) – D.N. Nagar

    Provides northern suburb connectivity; connects to Line 1 at D.N. Nagar, Economic Impact: Promotes residential growth in Dahisar, Borivali; enhances access to Andheri business hubs,17 stations, key ones include Dahisar, Borivali, Kandarpada, D.N. Nagar Status: Operational.

  • Line 7 (Red Line): Dahisar (East) – Andheri (East)

    Connects northern suburbs with western suburbs; eases traffic on Western Express Highway. Economic Impact: Supports real estate growth and industrial connectivity in northern suburbs,13 stations including Dahisar, Kandarpada, Andheri East ,Status: Operational
